Counselling supports you to change.
This change is seen not just in new insights, but in behaviour:
for example, fewer addictions and compulsions, more satisfying relationships, and better self-care.
I invite you to measure the effectiveness of what we do together in two ways.
The first is that our sessions, even the first, should be an experience, rather than just a chat. Something happens that would not occur when talking with a friend, writing in a journal, or thinking about things by yourself. This is a therapeutic relationship: it supports you to explore what you need to in ways that might not otherwise be possible.
The second is change. You are here because you need something to be different. The therapy session is 50 minutes every week, but in the rest of the week you may see changes in yourself that matter: in relationships, self-care, work, mood, and well-being.
These changes are a consequence of the deeper transformations that the experience of therapy brings about.
Clients are not required to sign up for any length of time, but many choose to work with me long term, in order to support necessary transformation. It's impossible to say how long the work will take to complete, but clients don't need to put their faith in anything: it’s a felt experience.
Issues that I can work with include anxiety, stress, bereavement, depression, personal growth, loss, phobias, eating disorders, addiction, abuse, sexuality, identity issues, physical health, self-esteem, spirituality, trauma, relationships, and self-harm. Please note that I work with over-18s only and do not offer couples therapy.
FEES – My fees are on a sliding scale of £60 - 85 per session of 50 minutes. I can offer reduced fees for some clients in case of need.
