Supervision

I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor and can offer mentorship, support and guidance.

Whether you are just getting started and want to find your feet, or an established therapist seeking a more nourishing, creative and enjoyable supervisory experience, I can support you.

I have worked as a supervisor since 2020, and in 2024 completed training in supervision.

My work as a supervisor integrates two important dimensions of psychotherapy:

Developmental / Transpersonal

Through a developmental lens we can explore your work on the client’s personal history. How has the experience of childhood affected them? What is coming down through the family story, genetic inheritance, or inherited cultural stories? How might your personal history be resonating with those of your clients?

A transpersonal lens complements this, looking at questions of calling, the search for meaning, spirituality and soulfulness. Why is this the right client for you? What may have brought you together? What might be coming into being through your work, the future calling into the present?

The integration of the developmental and the transpersonal provides a grounded way to work with the more-than-human.

I can support you with the integration of client psychedelic experiences, and with other anomalous or paranormal experiences in your work.

Somatic / Relational

I trained and have many years of practice in Somatic Experiencing. Early developmental and acute trauma are often held in the Autonomic Nervous System, and I am happy to support the development of your learning about this.

The somatic is integrated with a relational approach that acknowledges that human beings interpret traumatic events not only as physical threats, but as meaningful events. The body will not recover if the person exists within relationships that require shame, guilt and submission as conditions of survival. We can also explore how the transference field shows up in your work, as a source of vital learning about what is deeply unconscious in your clients.

By integrating top-down and bottom-up approaches, your work can benefit from these two important streams of the psychotherapeutic tradition, one coming down from Freud and Jung, and the other originating with Reich and others.
